FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ - Today at 3:30 p.m. the Franklin Township Police Department answered a 9-1-1 call reporting a fire on Windfall Lane in the Somerset section of the township. Officers found that the residence was fully engulfed in flames, according to reports. 

All of the of the occupants of the home self-evacuated prior to emergency responders arrival, according to police. Numerous Franklin Township fire companies responded to fight the blaze. According to reports, the fire started in the front structure and quickly spread throughout the home. 

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and don't appear to be suspicious in nature, according to the Franklin Township Office of Fire Prevention. The home was deemed uninhabitable and the resident of the home will be staying with family, according to reports.
