SOMERSET, NJ - Officers from the Franklin Township Police Department volunteered their time at Katy’s Place, the Child Development Center at the Center for Great Expectations a nonprofit providing transformational behavioral health treatment to women, children, men and families impacted by trauma, abuse and neglect.

The officers are part of the PACER Program (Police And Children Engaged in Reading) where 10 police officers from the Franklin Township Police Force volunteer their time on their days off to go into the community to read to children.

The Center for Great Expectations was fortunate to welcome Officers Malcolm Belvin, Anthony Chiarello and Patrick Clyne for a special visit.

They read to the children and infants happily interacting with them, answering questions and sang “Happy Birthday” to one of the toddlers.  It was a wonderful, uplifting experience for the children and all who attended.
