BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Literacy Volunteers of Somerset County is holding information sessions about becoming a volunteer adult literacy tutor.
Sessions are being held in September, with one at the Bridgewater Township Library Sept. 11 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.; Hillsborough Township Library Sept. 12 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.; and Franklin Township Library Sept. 13 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Literacy Volunteers is now recruiting tutors to teach literacy skills to adult learners. Tutors will receive 12 hours of training in basic literacy and English for speakers of other languages during four weekly sessions.
Once the training is complete, tutors are matched with an adult learner. They usually meet once a week for sessions.
The fall tutor training class will be offered on consecutive Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the PeopleCare Center, in Bridgewater.
The sessions are Oct. 3, Oct. 10, Oct.1 7 and Oct. 24.
