LIVINGSTON, NJ - The Burn Center at Saint Barnabas Medical Center presented Assistant Chief Vincent Inzano of Community Fire & Rescue Department #1 with a Special Recognition Award during the 31th Annual Valor Awards held on October 25, 2018.
Last December, Assistant Chief Inzano was on his way home when he noticed a significant amount of smoke that turned out to be a house on fire. He immediately pulled over and started banging on doors, notifying occupants to evacuate. Chief Inzano then began containment of the fire with an extinguisher until responding companies arrived.
Because of his quick actions, the fire was contained and there was no loss of life at this incident. His actions demonstrate that firefighters are always on duty.
