NEW BRUNSWICK – New Brunswick will commemorate Juneteenth, the holiday that commemorates the liberation of the last remaining slaves in the United States, with a parade and festival sponsored by the the Vulcan Pioneers of New Brunswick and the New Brunswick Area Branch of the NAACP.

The parade will begin 11 am on Saturday, July 16th at the intersection of George Street and Remsen Avenue, and will continue into the afternoon with a festival at Pine Street Park, featuring music, dance, spoken word performances, and food vendors.
