SOMERSET, NJ - Police are investigating a Jan. 3 shooting that happened during the evening hours in the area of Voorhees Avenue, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 call on Jan. 3 at approximately 8:49 pm reporting shots fired at a residence on Voorhees Avenue, according to authorities. 

"Upon arrival, the Franklin Township Police Department observed damage to a residence and a nearby vehicle which they determined to be caused by gunshots," Robertson said in a statement. "No injuries were reported."

Detectives from the Franklin Township Police Department responded to conduct an investigation.  Authorities have not released a motive for the incident, and no arrests have been made. 

Police are also investigating a New Year's Day shooting of a New Brunswick man, that took place at an unidentified hotel on Cedar Grove Lane.

Authorities have not released a motive for the shooting and no arrests have been made.   The victim underwent emergency surgery and is expected to survive.
