BOUND BROOK, NJ -  Police are looking for witnesses to a Saturday night jeep crash that occurred in the area of Route 22 and Mountain Avenue, according to a Bound Brook Police department Facebook post. 

Bound Brook Police say they responded to a report of an overturned vehicle on fire at approximately 11:34 pm. Upon arrival, officers found a vehicle in the woods off Route 22 Eastbound at Mountain Avenue. 

"Officers located a subject who claimed to have been a passenger in the vehicle and who also advised them that two other people were in the vehicle, but that he believed they had gotten out," BBPD said in a Facebook post.

The Bound Brook Fire department extinguished the blaze and determined nobody else was in the vehicle, according to police. 

One of the passengers was located about a mile North from the scene of the crash on Mountain Avenue, police say. Both unnamed vehicle occupants were treated, police did not say if they are in custody. 

Police are asking anyone with information who may have witnessed the accident to contact the Bound Brook Police Dept. at 732-356-0800. Officer Brian Wertheim is conducting the investigation.
