PISCATAWAY, NJ – A township man, Jahneel Stevenson, 21 has been charged with the June 16 shooting death of his brother, Henry Stevenson, Jr., 24, also of Piscataway, said Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Chief Scott Cartmell of the Piscataway Police Department.
On June 22, Stevenson, the accused was charged with murder, possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, according to a Friday news release from the Prosecutor's Office.
“Police responded to the shooting in the area of West Third Street and Poplar Place (in Piscataway) at approximately 7 p.m. on June 16,” officials said in the release. “Police found the victim on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick where he later was pronounced dead.”
The incident remains under investigation.

As is the case with all criminal defendants, the charges against Stevenson are merely accusations and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
