SOMERSET, NJ - A ribbon cutting ceremony on June 10 celebrated the beginning installation of the Villagers Theatre Yellow Brick Road.

On hand was Dorothy from the Theatre’s current Wizard of Oz production, donors, and township officials.

The ceremony marked the culmination of phase one of the Yellow Brick Road fundraising campaign whose goal is to raise $250,000 to cover the cost of the Theatre’s new HVAC system and building repairs, upgrades, and maintenance.

The key component of the campaign is the sale of personalized yellow bricks which form the path adjacent to the community theatre at 415 Demott Lane, Somerset.

Phase 2 continues with the ongoing brick sale and the annual Senior Performing Arts Festival to be held at the Theatre on July 1 and 2.

Patrons of the arts are invited to purchase their own bricks and Festival performance tickets online at or by calling the theatre at 732-873-2710.

The YBR volunteer fundraising committee is headed by Linda Giordano and includes Bill Grippo, Linda Mayerik, Jeff Dworkin, Angela Green, Donna Kimberlin, Paul Carver, Andy Gordanier, and Dan Schutze.
