NEW BRUNSWICK – Well, believe it or not, we are ending July and entering the month of August. But wait! That’s not a bad thing. It means summer is still going strong and there are more exciting and fun things to do in New Brunswick. So take a look at that bucket list you’ve been keeping and start crossing things off!

The Great Muppet Caper-Free Summer Movie. Two Showings 10:30 a.m. & 7:00 p.m.
Where: State Theatre New Jersey, 15 Livingston Ave. New Brunswick

If you can’t make one free summer movie showing, don’t worry there are two different showing times for “The Great Muppet Caper”. This is a free summer movie at the State Theatre New Jersey. When London’s most famous fashion designer, Lady Holiday, reports her priceless diamond necklace stolen, investigative reporters Kermit and Fozzie are on the case! All the evidence points to Miss Piggy; it’s up to Kermit and his Muppet sleuths to catch the real robbers red-handed before Miss Piggy winds up in the pen! Will they be able to solve the crime of the century? You’ll have to watch to find out.

Who doesn’t love Taco Tuesday? The Sushi Room holds a Taco Tuesday every week, where you can get four dollar tacos and four dollar margaritas. These prices go all day, so whether you are heading there for lunch or dinner you’ll get your four-dollar tacos or margaritas, or both?

Teen Game Time 3:30-4:30 p.m.
Where: New Brunswick Public Library, 60 Livingston Ave.

I know you have been practicing your video game skills all summer long, so why not challenge a friend, or maybe a new friend, at Teen Game Time. Play your friends with one of the library’s video games. Brawl it out in Super Smash Brothers, put the pedal to the metal with Mario Kart, or just have a blast with another game. This event is open to tweens and teens.

Thursday, August 2
Pong Tournament with Pong Kings
Where: Blackthorn Restaurant and Irish Pub, 61 Church St.

Calling all beer-pong champs, here is your chance to show your skills off. Come to Blackthorn Restaurant and Irish Pub for a pong tournament. The tournament starts at 10 p.m.  and while you’re there grab some food and listen to some music.

Where: Stress Factory in downtown New Brunswick

Maybe you had a long work-week and need a laugh, or you’ve been laughing all week and want to continue. Leslie Jones, a superstar and legend at SNL, will be performing her stand up routine on multiple nights at The Stress Factory, so you have options if you can’t make one.
