MANVILLE, NJ – Two men were arrested and charged with multiple gun crimes in connection with a fight outside of a Manville strip club on June 23, according to authorities.
Multiple 911 calls reported a large fight and shots fired at Foxtails Lounge at 39 South St. in Manville, at approximately 12:20 am on June 23 according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.
Police say video footage of the incident was obtained by detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Manville Police Department.
"The video footage revealed two males in possession of handguns," Robertson said in a news release. "Further investigation was conducted in conjunction with the Plainfield Police Department and revealed that the two individuals in the video footage were identified as Rashir Abner (31) and Najee McCoy (30)."
On June 28, 2018, members of the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, the Manville Police Department and Bound Brook Police Department arrested Abner at his residence in Bound Brook, without incident according to police.
On June 29, 2018, members of the Plainfield Police Department arrested McCoy in Plainfield, without incident according to police.
Abner and McCoy were each charged with Unlawful Possession of a Handgun (2nd degree) and Certain Persons Not to Possess a Handgun (2nd degree). Abner and McCoy are being lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.
