SOMERSET, NJ - Sisters Network of Central New Jersey (SNCNJ) provides assistance programs that provide financial assistance and support services for uninsured, underserved, and ill women diagnosed with breast cancer.
October 7, in Colonial Park SNCNJ, will host a 5k run/walk for life to raise awareness and money to help fight breast cancer, and they are seeking your help.
Volunteers are needed to help set up and break down the event, register people, man water stations along the path, act as course marshalls, assist with youth boot camp, and provide face painting services.
"We love our community organizations and we are grateful to FHS Warriors, Central Jersey Delta’s, AKA Inc, and many others who will join us again this year as volunteers," Reverend, Martisha Dwyer, vice president of the SNCNJ said. Volunteers must be 15 years old and up. T-shirts, snacks, and beverages will be provided to volunteers. The event is expected to be a fun filled day the entire family can enjoy.
Since SNCNJ inception they have served over 400,000 women with education and provided over $100,000 in financial services to women during treatment, according to their website.
In addition to supporting many community breast health awareness programs, funds raised from this event support our nonprofit’s Breast Cancer Assistance Program (B-CAP), which provides emergency breast cancer-related services for qualified women during chemo and radiation treatments.
