BRIDGEWATER, NJ – A new program for children with developmental disabilities between the ages of three and six has been introduced by the Somerset County Park Commission Therapeutic Recreation (TR) Department. 
 
The program "Preschool Playful Pals" will help youths explore a variety of arts & crafts and science activities. Children will also enjoy songs, stories, and games while working on developing their motor, social and play skills. 
 
“Our goal is to provide the children with a variety of recreational activities that enhances their leisure skills in activities appropriate to their developmental needs and functional abilities, to further develop their skills through recreation and leisure experiences, and to increase their awareness of recreational opportunities” commented Dina Trunzo, CTRS, Manager, Therapeutic Recreation.
 
 
Preschool Playful Pals will take place at the North Branch Park TR Activity Center, 355 Milltown Road in Bridgewater, NJ from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. on Saturdays, March 4, 11, 18, and 25, 2017.
 
Participants must reside in a contracting municipality in Somerset County and a parent must attend each week with the registered child. Fee for the four-week program is $50 per child/parent. Registration will be accepted on a first come-first served basis as space is available. Registration will be accepted at Park Commission Headquarters at North Branch Park, by phone with a credit card at 908-526-5650 or by fax at 908-429-5508.
