MONTGOMERY, NJ - The Sourland Mountain Conservancy invites cyclists of all levels to sign up and ride in the Sept. 9 Sourland Spectacular.
The event will offer challenging routes for serious cyclists, as well as shorter alternatives for more casual bikers. Routes of 26 to 63 miles are planned, all of which include some uphill cycling. The routes begin and end at the Otto Kaufman Community Center, 356 Skillman Road in Skillman. All parking will be across the street, in front of Montgomery High School.
New this year is a family ride. Coffee and snacks will be provided at registration at the community center, with riders setting off on their trek between 7 and 9 a.m. The designated rest stops along the routes will offer beverages, snacks, and bathroom facilities. SAG services also will be provided.
Following the morning rides, bikers will join up for a gourmet picnic lunch at the community center. Volunteers are needed. For more information, visit sourlandspectacular.com. Proceeds benefit the Sourland Conservancy.
This is a rain or shine event.
