Previously arrested was a second Somerville resident, Azwika D. Rustin, 27, who faces similar charges.

The third suspect, Joseph N. Wright of Bridgewater, 35, remains at large. His charges are identical to those faced  by Harris.

Somerville Police responded to several calls reporting a shooting in the vicinity of Center Street and Third Street around 4:15 p.m. Oct. 26, according to Robertson, who provided the following details:

The wounded man was in his care near the corner of Center and Third streets Rustin and Wright who fired their weapons into the car. During the shooting Rustin was shot in the buttocks by Wright. Police determined that Harris was also present during the shooting, and participated in events related to the shooting. While investigators are attempting to determine a motive for the shooting, preliminary results are that the victim may have been mistaken for another individual.

Rustin was arrested at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital when he arrived seeking treatment for his gunshot wound.

Harris turned himself into detectives Nov. 3; the search for Wright is continuing and detectives are urging him to surrender to law enforcement authorities.  Detectives are also urging the public to report and not approach the defendant who is considered to be armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information regarding the incident or Wright’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit at 908-231-7100, the Somerville Borough Police Department at 908-725-0331 or via the STOPit app by downloading STOPit to your smart phone at Google Play or the Apple Store and enter the access code SOMERSETNJ.

Crime Stoppers of Somerset County, Inc. is likewise offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the whereabouts and arrest of Wright.
