The Center for Great Expectations, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit, will be celebrating its 20th Anniversary at the Annual Gala on Friday, October 5, 2018 at the Hyatt Regency New Brunswick from 6 – 11 pm.

In 1998, CGE served twelve women per year.  The Gala will celebrate the journey from this humble beginning to the present where close to 600 women, adolescents, men and children are served every year.  Join CGE in celebrating this milestone.

This elegant black tie event includes a gourmet dinner, dancing to the award winning “Platinum Band” and showcases amazing silent and live auction items.  The evening will feature a former client as she shares her personal journey and how CGE has changed her life. This year’s award nominees are truly an inspiration due to their dedication to the mission: Humanitarian of the Year, Sister Rita Woehlcke, Outstanding Service Award, Tom Berkman, President of THS Company/Hotels4Teams and Volunteer of the Year, Carolyn A. Sullivan, CGE Board of Directors and Gala Committee Co-Chairman.  In addition, Peg Wright, Founder, President & CEO has selected 20 individuals who will be highlighted for their contributions over the past two decades.

“The 20th Anniversary Gift of Hope Gala is our opportunity to celebrate the community where #peoplehealpeople every day.  We could not do what we do without the wonderful individuals who have made the past 20 years possible. This year’s honorees have demonstrated their commitment to the women, men and children we serve and we are thrilled they will be accepting these awards.” says Peg.

Event proceeds support the evidenced-based trauma-informed programs offered at the Center for Great Expectations (CGE), treating vulnerable, homeless, pregnant/parenting adult and teenage mothers and their children.  CGE is a leader in the state, providing substance use disorder and mental health treatment through residential treatment, supportive housing, outpatient treatment (women and men) and the START program - treating individuals with substance use disorders in their homes.

The Center for Great Expectations seeks to form a partnership with homeless, pregnant and/or parenting women and adolescents, men and their children in creating a safe place, safe presence and safe path.  This path enables them to experience, choose and maintain physical, psychological, social and spiritual health for themselves, their children and families to break the inter-generational cycle of substance use, abuse, neglect and homelessness.  Visit the CGE website to learn more.
