The 2018 Franklin Township Community Farmers Market is returning with its mission of supporting Franklin Township and New Jersey agriculture! The Market, with its carefully curated mix of produce and specialty vendors, was the 2017 winner of the Healthier Somerset Award!

Last week the Franklin High School Project Graduation team announced the line up for its first ever Food Truck Festival scheduled for June 9, from 11 am to 6 pm at Franklin High School, 500 Elizabeth Avenue, in Somerset.

Somerset County Park Commission Colonial Park Gardens will be celebrating “Rose Day Festival.” The event will be held at the Rudolf W. van der Goot Rose Garden at 156 Mettlers Road, Colonial Par, Lot A, Somerset.

Snyder's Farm is hosting their first U-Pick strawberry and movie night on the farm June 9th. Come on out and kick off the summer with strawberry picking, family-friendly activities, Snyder's signature jar good tasting, firepits, food and finish the night off with a movie on the front lawn. Jewelry from the most popular eras from the 1800's to present day will be on display on Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 10-6pm.

Admission is free and registration is recommended and includes entry into a drawing for a $500 vintage jewelry giveaway.

Award winning guitarist Brian Betz joins baritone saxophonist Denis DiBlasio.  DiBlasio directs the jazz program at Rowan University - he is a world renown musician and loves to teach audiences new things about jazz.

Bridgewater Police: Avoid Mall for Ongoing Police Investigation

UPDATE: According to a Nixle alert from the Bridgewater Township Police Department at 9 p.m., the investigation at the mall has been completed, and the mall will be resuming normal business operations.

Police emphasized that there is no immediate threat to the public and no injuries were reported.

Students Lead ‘Die-In’ at Congressman Lance’s Westfield Office; Summit Boy Arrested

WESTFIELD, NJ — Seventeen-year-old Summit High School student Ben Schachter was taken away in handcuffs Tuesday during a gun safety “die-in” protest led by local high school students at Congressman Leonard Lance's Westfield office. Lance was not present at the office at the time.
