The Community Launch Party held at Ovations on Aug. 5, helped Warrior For Life Scholarship Foundation raise over $1000 to support our cause.

The event was attended by various Franklin residents, alumni, teachers, and administrators.

One of our scholarships will be named for Dennis Harris, who recently passed away. He was a long time Franklin resident, who worked in the school system and was intricate in helping to build and sustain our Pop Warner program in town, and his daughter Cheryl Wallace was able to attend the event and show her support with her husband Clarence.

Another one of our four scholarships will be named for Carl Wade (featured in the video below), is a former principal and long time resident of Franklin Township.

His daughter, Jennifer Wade, drove from DC where she now lives and works to attend the event and she also volunteers her time with Warrior For Life Scholarship Foundation.

The four scholarships are the following:

1.Academic Excellence - "The Carl and Theresa Wade Award"

2.H.B.C.U - "The Malcolm and Barbara Bernard Award"

3.Legacy - The Dennis Harris Award"

4.Financial Need/Tragedy - "The Myra A. Mitchell Award"

The WFLSF has many ways people can show support all of which will be discussed in more detail during next month's community meeting.
