BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Whole Foods, in the new Chimney Rock Plaza in Bridgewater, is officially opening its doors on Friday, March 23.

“People are psyched about the opening,” said Tina Clabbers Feigley, of Whole Foods Market. “This is an underserved area for us, and the town is growing in a huge way. We are so specific in what we want to do, and we do well in anything that sets us apart.”

Whole Foods was originally scheduled to open March 21, but the opening was delayed because of winter storm Toby

The Bridgewater location is the first Whole Foods in Somerset County.

Whole Foods will donate 5 percent of the net sales for the day as a contribution to the Somerset County Park Foundation to “fund community wellness programs and improve local trails" at county parks like Colonial Park, according to the Somerset County Parks Commission.

The funds are expected to support recreation programs, trails, and improvements.

The 49,000-square-foot store is featuring all of its special products with lots of local inspirations, and several new offerings including Plant & Plate, a new lifestyle shop dedicated to beauty, garden and home goods rooted in nature.

The shop also features a Juice Press juice shop, Bridgewater Coffee, a Kitchen, and an all-day cafe.
