SOMERVILLE, NJ - Detectives are investigating the discovery of a deceased female that was discovered on the center median off Route 22 near Route 28, in Branchburg, according to the Somerset County Prosecutor's office.
Police responded to a call on Wednesday, April 5, reporting a deceased female off Route 22, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson. Responding Officers located the decedent and secured the area as a crime scene, according to a news release.
"Detectives from the Branchburg Township Police Department, the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Crime Scene Investigations and Forensics Unit, investigator’s from the New Jersey Northern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office, and Special Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (Franklin Township Field Office), responded to conduct the death investigation," Robertson said in a statement.
According to officials, a post mortem examination will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death.
