KINGSTON, NJ - On October 27, 2018, YingHua International School in the Princeton area held their third Annual Benefit Gala to honor Peter Wanpek Liu at the Windsor Athletic Club (WAC). Mr. Liu is a philanthropist who supports over 14 charities and institutions.

It has always been Mr. Liu’s wish, as well as most first-generation Chinese Americans, that second-generation students learn the Chinese language and its precious cultural heritage. When Peter first visited YingHua International School in Kingston, NJ he was very impressed by the results of its immersion bilingual teaching method. He talked to students in the hallway and he was amazed by how they could speak Chinese fluently, and even recite ancient Chinese poetry.

On the walls he saw charts of Chinese geography, history, and literature. He came away convinced that the immersion bilingual teaching is an effective way for the students to learn Chinese at a young age. During the evening, guest were entertained by the Murder Mystery Company’s, “A Masquerade Murder Mystery” and feasted on specially prepared dishes from Summit Catering. Performers interacted with guest to bring attendees into the act. Periodically, attendees were encouraged to interact with other attendees to find clues and facts. Guest had a killer evening scratching their heads to try and solve the mystery.
