Winter Holiday Festival at Lord Stirling Stable

BASKING RIDGE, NJ – The Friends of Lord Stirling Stable (FLSS) will present their 21st Annual Winter Holiday Festival on Saturday and Sunday, December 7 & 8, 2019 from 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. The Festival will take place at the Somerset County Park Commission Lord Stirling Stable, 256 South Maple Avenue in Basking Ridge, NJ.
 
Families will enjoy hayrides through the woods and visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus (weather permitting).  Santa’s Workshop will be open for games, craft projects, food, and more. Pony rides will be available at various times throughout the Festival. 
 
Adults will enjoy exploring the offerings at the annual Silent Auction, which will benefit the Lord Stirling School Horse Retirement Fund, another FLSS initiative. Themed gift baskets, specialty items, and gift certificates for local businesses will vie for bidders’ attention. The FLSS gift shop will offer unique items for purchase.
 
In conjunction with the festivities, guests are invited to enjoy the 2nd annual Drill Team Competition and Junior Horse Show that provides Lord Stirling students the opportunity to showcase the horsemanship skills they have learned in class. The Drill Team competition is scheduled for Saturday, with a performance by the Adult Drill Team at 1P.M. The Junior Horse Show starts at 9:00 A.M. on Sunday and includes a performance by the Junior Drill Team at the lunch break. Spectators are invited to enjoy the shows from the arena bleachers or the climate controlled viewing area.
 
Admission and parking are free. Refreshments and tickets for pony and hay rides, crafts, etc., will be available for purchase.  
 
Friends of Lord Stirling Stable is a 501(c) (3) organization of youth and adult volunteers working with the Somerset County Park Commission to support the activities of Lord Stirling Stable through contribution of ideas, time, and revenue.
