SOMERSET, NJ - The Franklin Township Recreation Department, Hamilton Street Business District, and Week of the People have teamed up and are inviting residents and community organizations to the fourth annual Halloween on Hamilton.

The Trunk or Treat event is a family-friendly Halloween tailgating party.

Halloween on Hamilton will be held at the John's Plaza Parking lot on Hamilton Street (next to Community Volunteer Fire Co. #1) Saturday, Oct. 26 (rain date Oct. 27) from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Kids can trick-or-treat from trunk to trunk to fill their bag with goodies. The free event will feature a costume parade, pumpkin decorating, games, crafts, and prizes. 

Local organizations are invited to "decorate their trunks or entire vehicles and hand out candy and/or novelties to children as well as information regarding your organization to parents that stop by," reads a township announcement. 

All treats must be store-bought due to government regulations.  

"Vehicle decorations should be as creative as possible (Kid-friendly themes, please)," reads a township announcement. "Get in the Halloween spirit by dressing up as well! Trunk or Treat is a wonderful opportunity to support Franklin Township and promote your organization to the Township’s tiniest members and their families."
