SOMERSET, NJ - The Township of Franklin summer recreation camp program is canceled for the 2020 season, according to an announcement from the township.

“After carefully evaluating the health guidelines related to COVID-19, and ongoing discussions with our local officials, Franklin Township has made the difficult decision to cancel in-person summer camp for the 2020 season,” a Township of Franklin announcement reads. "While we are disappointed that we are unable to offer an in-person camp this year, we are excited to announce a FREE virtual summer camp opportunity that will soon be available to the children of township residents entering grades 1 through 6.”

Campers will have the opportunity to connect with counselors online, according to officials. There is a possibility more traditional recreation opportunities will be available later this summer.
