SOMERSET, NJ - The Week of the People, Inc. (WOPI), in association with the New Dawn Experience, proudly present, “LIVE!!!” The Annual Juneteenth Classic Soul Concert Series, on Saturday, June 29, 2019, 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, at the Franklin Middle School Auditorium, 415 Francis Street, Somerset, NJ.

This affair is for those who crave that old school flavor of the days of old where singing was singing and groups took pride in their appearance, with silky smooth dynamic choreography. Featuring Live performances by, The Ebonys, CP Lacey and the headliner for the evening is; Blue Magic, also performing will be, the Zawadi African Dance & Drum and our very own local artist William G. McLeod.

Group rates are also available. A percentage of the proceeds will go to benefit the Week of the People, Inc., for other community projects. Photo opportunities by Studio One will be available in addition to various vendors.

The feature act, Blue Magic, an R&B vocal group formed ln Philadelphia, specialized in dreamy ballads and choreographed stage moves. The group will perform their hit songs from the 70’s, “Sideshow”, “Three Ring Circus”, “Spell”, “What’s Come Over Me” and a host of others.

The Ebonys, a 70’s group that brought the soulful Philadelphia sounds to a nation will also be performing. They treat attendees to their hit songs; “It’s Forever” and “You’re the Reason”.

C.P. Lacey, an Actor, Singer, Dancer, who flawlessly impersonates top celebrities and public figures with bedazzling accuracy, including Pres. Barack Obama, Michael Jackson, the legendary James Brown will also perform. 

A multi-dimensional talent, William MeCleod who has performed with celebrated legendary artists such as Patti Labelle, Billy Preston and Pastor Shirley Caeser. Performing some tunes from his latest CD. Zawadi African Dance and Drum, Since our inception 24 years ago, Zawadi Dance has built a strong reputation of providing our communities with traditional African dance, drumming, song and most of all history.

It is our missions to Ed-U-Tain (educate and entertain) with the cultural arts of those before us.
