SOMERVILLE, NJ - The number of reported COVID-19 cases in Franklin increased to 987 on Tuesday, increasing by 42 overnight, according to the Somerset County Department of Health.

In Franklin, 80 residents died due to COVID-19 complications according to the SCDH. According to the state Health Department, 64 of the COVID-19 related deaths in Franklin happened in long-term-care facilities.

There are 3,181 cases in Somerset County, according to statistics provided by the SCDOH, an increase of 82 overnight.

There are 272 COVID-19 related deaths in Somerset County. One person aged 18-29, nine people aged 30-49, 27 people aged 50-64, 91 people aged 65-79, and 144 people over the age of 80 have died, according to statistics proved by the SCDOH.

Statewide, there is a total of 118,652 cases, an increase of 2,388 overnight, with 7,228 deaths reported, an increase of 458 since Wednesday, according to the State Department of Health. Statewide there have been 129,266 negative test results.

There are 1,054,261 cases in the United States, with 61,717 deaths; worldwide, there are 3,247.643 cases and 230.804 deaths, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
