SOMERVILLE, NJ - The number of reported COVID-19 cases in Franklin increased to 1,010 on Sunday, increasing by 140 since last Sunday, according to the Somerset County Department of Health.

In Franklin, 83 residents died due to COVID-19 complications according to the SCDH. According to the state Health Department, 64 of the COVID-19 related deaths in Franklin happened in long-term-care facilities.

Out of 323,444 Somerset County residents, 1.02 percent tested positive and 8.74 percent have died Chart Highlights

  • Bound Brook Borough, Green Brook Township, Franklin Township, Watchung Borough, and Peapack/Gladstone Borough have the highest percentage of infection according to SCDOH data
  • Green Brook Township, Watchung Borough, Bernards Township, Bedminster Township, and Bridgewater Township have the highest percentage of deaths, according to SCDOH data

There are 3,307 cases in Somerset County, according to statistics provided by the SCDOH, an increase of 328 since last Sunday.

There are 289 COVID-19 related deaths in Somerset County, demographic information has only been provided for 284 as of 3:27 pm today. One person aged 18-29, nine people aged 30-49, 27 people aged 50-64, 96 people aged 65-79, and 151 people over the age of 80 have died, according to statistics proved by the SCDOH.

Statewide, there is a total of 126,744 cases, an increase of 3,027 overnight, with 7,871 deaths reported, an increase of 129 since Saturday, according to the State Department of Health. Statewide there have been 148,322 negative test results.

There are 1,143,433 cases in the United States, with 66,760 deaths; worldwide, there are 3,476,021 cases and 245,531 deaths, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
