SOMERSET, NJ - As the end of the school year approaches, the district’s long-range facility plan nears completion.
The state Department of Education required plan identifies potential future facility projects for the district.
Superintendent John Ravally told the Franklin Board of Education at last week's meeting that the architecture firm, DRG Architects, will have it finished for the board’s June 20 meeting.
“The plan is shaping up very nicely,” Ravally said. “It includes a comprehensive blueprint for facility maintenance and improvements as we move forward through the next few years.”
DRG inspected facilities across the district, interviewed staff and took community input to determine which potential projects to include in the plan and present to the board.
Representatives from DRG will be at the June 20 meeting to present the document, according to Ravally.
But before looking to the future of the district, the board will host its annual meeting celebrating this year’s students.
Board members will honor the academic achievements of students at a special meeting of the board of education in June.
The second annual special meeting is on June 10 at the Franklin Middle School Hamilton Street Campus at 6:30 p.m.
At the June 20 meeting, the board will also hear a report on the Student Safety Data System (SSDS) results for the first half of the school year.
The SSDS report details incidents of violence, vandalism, harassment, intimidation and bullying.
Ravally told the board the data looks “promising.”
