SOMERSET, NJ - Franklin High School was put into a shelter in place status due to a note that was deemed to be a hoax, according to police.
The Franklin Township Police Department was contacted around 1 pm today after a teacher discovered a note that contained a veiled non-specific threat, according to a news release.
"It was determined that the note was a hoax and the threat was not credible," FTPD Sgt. Phil Rizzo said in a news release. "At no time were any students or administrators in any danger."
The shelter in place call was lifted around 2:30 pm and students were dismissed as normal, according to police.
Rizzo said the origin of the note is still being investigated.
