SOMERSET, NJ - The line began forming over an hour before the official ribbon cutting and grand opening. And by the time the doors officially opened on May 4, more than 100 beer lovers experienced what could become the next big thing to hit the area.

Jersey Cyclone Brewing Company officially opened its doors with a grand opening and ribbon cutting attended by co-owners Jan Chwiedosiuk and Brian Teel, local officials, patrons and employees.

"It's a great location for us because it is right next to Route 287, it's near Easton Avenue going into Rutgers," Chwiedosiuk said. "It's a centrally located easily accessed location."

The 2,500-square-foot tasting room has a bar with eight original beers on tap, high-top tables, and had crafted picnic tables, designed for comfort.

"We wanted people to be able to reach across," Teel said. "We wanted that personal connection, If someone comes in with a box of pizza, they could put it down, and say it fits perfect here."

Patrons can bring in their own food to accompany an IPA or Milk Porter in a 6 oz., 10.5 oz., 16 oz., or 64 oz. growler.

Jersey Cyclone Brewing Company is open for tours Thursdays and Fridays from 5 pm to 10 pm and Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 10 pm.
