The Franklin Woman’s Club (FWC) is pleased to announce the 2019 Girls Career Institute and Scholarship winners. This year’s Girls Career Institute junior high school winners, (Nina Reilly and Kachi Nwanonyiri), participated in a sample “college life” experience from June 3 to 6, 2019. These delegates were selected based on their interest in gaining insight into attending college and learning about various career options. GCI recipients attended lectures and workshops on various professions and participated in such things as Zumba, swimming, service projects, talent and fashion shows, a chorus performance and Spirit Night, all providing networking and friendship-building opportunities with other NJ students.

Scholarship recipients were selected based on their scholastic achievement, community service, school activity participation and displays of leadership along with letters of recommendation. Winners are: Nia Abdullah, Kayla Arrington, Nadia Asmah, Jada Bethea, Anamaria Buchhan, Nisha Makwana, Monet Murray, Madison Rowe and Kaitlyn Timari.

Funds for college scholarships and GCI were raised through the Franklin Woman Club’s annual Tricky Tray fundraiser. Scholarship winners, all high school seniors from Franklin Township, will receive a one-time award of $1,000.
