SOMERVILLE, NJ - Members from the Somerset County Sheriff's office delivered lunch to the doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals working in the emergency room at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital/Somerset Monday afternoon.
Randazzos Pastry Shop located in Raritan provided four-foot subs, food platters, and beverages paid for through donations from officers. Somerset County Sheriff, Darrin J. Russo said the idea to donate food came from two of his officers, Karissa Hahn and Pooja Patel.
"Helping out the staff in the emergency rooms who are really on the frontline, dealing with this pandemic is just the right thing to do," Russo said.
Local residents looking to help area hospital staff have one less thing to worry about by feeding them can donate to Front Line Appreciation Group (FLAG) of Somerset. FLAG is also helping local restaurants stay afloat during these unprecedented times.
