SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – With the current healthcare crisis affecting so many families in one way or another, Puleo International has been working to spread some pre-holiday cheer throughout the Garden State.

Over the past two months, the South Plainfield-based Christmas tree company has donated hundreds of artificial trees to two New Jersey-based non-profits and is working to expand its philanthropic efforts to area houses of worship over the coming weeks.

So far this year, Puleo has donated 50 trees to Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity in Manville with an additional 600 also donated to Goodwill NY/NJ.

According to Lewis Puleo, the company's vice president, Puleo is the 'Oldest Family Name for Christmas Trees in America'. "Spreading the Christmas spirit is what we strive for," said Puleo. "With COVID-19 having affected so many families, we are working to sprinkle some holiday cheer throughout the community."

Over the past few years, Puleo International has also donated Christmas trees to the Borough of South Plainfield as well as to the municipality's  rescue squad, fire department, police department, senior center, and American Legion as well as local school, religious, and community organizations in South Plainfield, Piscataway and nearby surrounding towns.

Additionally, in the coming weeks, the company plans to donate additional Christmas trees to churches throughout the Central Jersey area.

"This upcoming donation of trees will enable these houses of worship to replace the trees that were donated to them about five years ago," said Cathy Herman, an associate with Puleo who worked to facilitate the company's recent donation effort.

"It brings us all great joy to be able to collaborate with great organizations like Goodwill and Habitat for Humanity and to be able to give back to our community makes it all the more special," said Puleo.

Puleo International, located at 3614 Kennedy Road in South Plainfield, is a fourth-generation family-owned manufacturer and distributor of high quality, hand-crafted artificial Christmas trees and home décor founded in 1954 by Marian Puleo. For more information, visit, call (732) 667-3800, or email
