SOMERSET, NJ - Construction amnesty is making a comeback this weekend at the Franklin Day Festival according to Township Manager Robert G. Vornlocker.

"If, you have done some work on your house and needed a permit and didn't get one, or if maybe a previous owner has done work on your house and maybe you are questioning if they had permits or not when they did that work," Vornlocker said during Tuesday night's Township Council meeting. "I encourage you to go to our construction department table at Franklin Day Festival, and we're offering amnesty."

Residents can stop by the Franklin Township Construction department table during the Franklin Day Festival this Saturday, to apply to the program. If permits were required on a particular project done in your home, the township will be offering amnesty on any penalties that may apply according to township officials.
