Area Carpenter Killed in Ryders Lane Crash

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ -  At approximately 6:40 a.m. on Friday, November 10, Christian Jaeckle Jr., 39, of South River was operating a blue 2006 Subaru Impreza northbound on Ryders Lane near Corona Road.

Apparently, Jaeckle lost control of his vehicle and struck a utility pole on the corner by the Speedway gas station. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the East Brunswick Police Department.

Jaeckle was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America since April, 2008 and served on the Executive Board of his home local, Union No. 821. He was employed as a full time carpenter by Jafco Industries in Middlesex, NJ.

The EBPD was on scene as was the Fire Department and Middlesex County officials. Ryders Lane is also Middlesex County Route 617.

Traffic was closed on Ryders Lane Northbound and some was diverted down Washington Avenue and onto Main Street of Milltown. The accident scene remained secured until well after 9 a.m..

The crash is currently under investigation by the East Brunswick Police Department Special Operations Division.
