Area man assaulted at party near Rutgers campus, police say

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - A man reportedly affiliated with Rutgers​ University​ was assaulted at a home near College Avenue at a party on Saturday, according to police.

The attack happened at 5:20 p.m. in a home on Delafield Street, between Courtland and Bristol ​streets​, Rutgers Police Chief Kenneth Cop said in a community alert.

The victim reported that he was assaulted by a group of men at the party following a​n argument​. A fight broke out and made its way to the front porch, police said, prompting the victim to flee.

​No weapons were used and the man was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries. Descriptions are limited at this time, Cop said.
