UPDATE: According to a Nixle alert sent at 7:48 p.m. Thursday, the Bridgewater Township Police is on location at the mall for a suspicious incident, but no injuries have been reported.

According to the alert, the police are investigating, but there is currently no threat to the public and no injuries. The report said the situation is fluid, so police are asking the public to continue to avoid the mall until further notice.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Bridgewater Commons Mall is asking people to stay away from the Bridgewater Commons Mall until further notice for a police investigation, according to a Nixle alert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

According to the alert, there is an ongoing police investigation and people are being asked to avoid the mall.

Witnesses have reported seeing police cars and helicopters in the area of the mall.
