Police Investigate Bias Incident in Montgomery, Seek Help from Public

MONTGOMERY, NJ - Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson and township Police Director/Capt. Thomas Wain are asking the public for help in the investigation of what is being considered a bias crime.

Detectives assigned to the investigation released that the following information based on the preliminary and ongoing investigation, which continues to evolve as investigators interview potential witnesses and victims.

Sometime prior to 1:42 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018, objects were placed on the windshield of the victim’s car, parked in the driveway of the family home in the Belle Mead section.

The objects left are considered offensive to the victim’s religious and cultural beliefs, according to Robertson.

Robertson and Wain request anyone with information regarding the investigation to contact the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes/Child Abuse Unit at (908) 231-7100 or the Montgomery Township Police Department at (908) 359-3222.
