SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – Police issued four traffic citations to the Bloomfield driver that caused a township ambulance to overturn on Route 522 yesterday morning.

According to police, Nhi Hoang, 45, of Bloomfield, received tickets for an improper turn signal with a red arrow, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, careless driving and obstructing the flow of traffic which caused the morning crash.

Police said that an ambulance from the Monmouth Junction First Aid Squad was responding to an emergency call on Route 522 near the Summerfield development at 10:25 Tuesday morning when Hoang went through a red light and cut the ambulance off.

The ambulance flipped on it’s side, but only caused minor injuries to the two EMS workers, police said.

The workers went to the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro where they were treated and released, police said.
