SOMERSET, NJ - Police are seeking the public's help in finding the shooter of a local man and offering a cash reward of up to $2,500. 

Dominic J. Frederick, 25, of Winston Drive was shot in the area of Petty Road, near the Franklin Greens Apartments in Franklin on May 25, according to police. Frederick crashed his car into a residence on Foxwood Drive after he had been shot, according to police. 

"Responding Franklin Township Police officers, along with detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office responded and located a male driver who was later identified as Dominic J. Frederick, unconscious behind the wheel," Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson said in a statement. "While trying to reach Frederick to render aid, officers noticed that Frederick had been shot, and was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene."

The reward money is for anyone with information leading to the arrest and indictment of the individual or individuals responsible for Frederick's murder. Crime Stoppers of Somerset County, Inc is offering the reward. 

Detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Franklin Township Police Department are continuing to investigate the homicide.

A local man was shot and killed in the area of Petty Road near the Franklin Greens Apartment complex Saturday night, according to police. 

Dominic J. Frederick, 25, of Franklin Township, was found unconscious behind the wheel of a car that crashed into a Foxwood Drive home Saturday night, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.

"While trying to reach Frederick to render aid, officers noticed that Frederick had been shot, and was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene," Robertson said in a statement. 

Police received multiple 9-1-1 calls at approximately 11:05 pm, Saturday night reporting that a motor vehicle had crashed into a residence on Foxwood Drive in Somerset. 

Detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, the Crime Scene Investigations and Forensics Unit, the Franklin Township Police Department, and the Northern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office responded to conduct the investigation, according to police.

"The investigation revealed that after the shooting, Frederick continued to drive his vehicle, eventually crashing into a residence on Foxwood Drive," Robertson said in a statement. "The vehicle was occupied with other passengers; their identities are not being released at this time."

The other occupants of the vehicle were not injured as a result of the shooting, police say. 

An autopsy performed by the Northern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office has determined that Frederick’s death was a homicide.
