The “realtor” is advertising the rent for the property as $600 per month. After being contacted, they indicate that the prospective renter needs to provide them with a $50 gift card as an application fee.

Additionally, they are saying to secure the property the “realtor” needs to be provided with $1200 up front.

To date, we have been contacted by several individuals who have made contact with the fraudulent realtor but no money was exchanged. We wanted to alert the public to this new scam.

If anyone has fallen victim to this type of incident in Franklin Township, they should contact FTPD Det Sammy Hernandez at 732-873-5533 x3154 or at Sammy.hernandez@franklinnj.gov.
