HILLSBOROUGH, NJ - Police arrested a 31-year-old township man earlier this week after they say the suspect followed a girl home while walking her dog, and harassed her once she was inside the house.
The girl, who had locked herself in the house, called 911 after she saw the suspect pacing in front of her home.
She also told police that the suspect repeatedly rang her front doorbell and rattled the front door handle.
Police responded to the call and arrested the suspect, Vitaliy Shtabnoy, who has been charged with Attempted Criminal Trespassing and Obstruction of Justice in connection with the Feb. 5 incident. He was also arrested for two outstanding warrants from Hillsborough Municipal Court.
Shtabnoy was booked, processed and transferred to Somerset County Jail for a detention hearing.
