SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a man they say broke into a Monmouth Junction home Tuesday morning while a resident was in the kitchen.

Police got a 911 call at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday reporting that a man forced his way into the home of a Palladino Boulevard home, surprising a female resident.

According to police, the woman was in her kitchen when she heard a knock at the door.

The resident told police that she believed it was a package delivery and she did not answer the door.

Seconds later, the woman told police that a man forced open the door and ran upstairs to the second floor.

The man then saw the woman in the kitchen and yelled before fleeing the home and getting into the passenger side of a white SUV with tinted windows parked in front of the residence, police said.

Video from the home and nearby businesses showed the vehicle head down Stouts Lane toward Ridge Road near the high school, police said.

Detectives developed a sketch of the suspect with the assistance of the New Jersey State Police and describe the suspect as a lighter skinned black male in his 40’s, medium build, unshaven, short curly black hair, wearing gloves and a blue track suit.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call South Brunswick Police at (732) 329-4646.
