SOMERSET, NJ - With just a few weeks until Opening Day, Franklin Township Baseball League (FTBL) is preparing for its annual Opening Day celebration featuring the FTBL parade followed by opening ceremonies. April 6th marks FTBL’s 66th Opening Day celebration.

The day will kick off with a parade beginning at 8:30 am lead by Sparkee from the Somerset Patriots and the East Franklin Fire Department, from Pine Grove Manor School to the Mickey Lewis FTBL Complex, where the ceremony will commence.

Ready to spread baseball spirit, the teams and their sponsors will be introduced as players and their coaches run out onto the field with their team banners.

"We at FTBL are looking forward to another season of great baseball here in Franklin Township. It’s always fun to see the excitement on our kids' faces as they take the field for their opening day games,” said Rob Rooney, president of FTBL.

Games will begin immediately after the ceremony, and will be played throughout the day. We invite all to come down to the Mickey Lewis FTBL Complex to support our youth as they kick off what will be a fun and exciting season.
