SOMERSET, NJ - Hunterdon Central got off to a quick start drawing first blood off a 75-yard run on the first offensive play of the game, but the Warriors scored three unanswered touchdowns to come away with an emotional first win, at Franklin High School Friday night.

"It was a great team win, individuals played well within the scheme of the offense and defense," FHS Coach John Paczkowski told TAPinto. "Each individual did their job, and they did their job well."

Quarterback Kevon Gordon put the Warriors on the scoreboard with an 11-yard keeper with 11:40 left in the second quarter. Gordon put the Warriors ahead for good, with 18.9 seconds left in the second quarter on a 36-yard pass to Tahj Hyman.

McQuilla took a high snap and scored on a 68-yard run down the right sideline for a touchdown off the first play of the third quarter to put the Warriors up by two scores.

McQuilla scored his second touchdown with 3:37 left in the fourth quarter on a 54-yard outside run.

Kevin Millman dove over Hunterdon Central's defensive line to give the Warriors its fifth and final touchdown of the game with 1:41 left in the fourth quarter. Millman also racked up 8 tackles on the defensive side of the ball.

"Donnelle McQuilla and Noah Ratliff both played an outstanding game," Paczkowski said. "Donnelle had a complete game, running the ball, blocking for teammates and solid pass protection. Noah was a force on the defensive line, he helped force four fumbles that set up our offense with some great scoring opportunities, and he was part of some key defensive stops throughout the game."

De'John Thomas racked up a game-leading 9 tackles and Isaiah McKenzie chipped in with 7 tackles of his own. McKenzie also had a sack of his own and teamed up on another sack with Eli McClain.

The Warriors have back-to-back road games against Ridge Oct. 11 at 7 pm and Plainfield Oct. 25 at 1 pm. The team is 1-4 for the season.
