PORTVILLE, NY -- Five Portville Central School graduates recently received scholarships from the Portville College Scholarships Fund, managed by the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation. They are Colin Kloc, Justina VanSickle, Logan Thierman, Elayna Keim and Kelsey Thompson.
The fund, established by Portville College Scholarships, makes possible scholarships for students who volunteer at the school store or annual Portville College Scholarship phonathon fundraiser.
Kloc, who received $600, will be attending Houghton College to study biology/environmental science.
Thompson, who received $400, will attend the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford to study radiologic science.
Receiving $200, Keim will study nursing at Jamestown Community College.
VanSickle, who received $150, will study pre-veterinary medicine at the University of Findlay.
Thierman, who received $100, will attend Alfred State College to study diagnostic medical sonography.
In total, Portville Central School graduates received over $7,000 in scholarships from scholarship funds managed by CRCF this year.
