For all that has changed in journalism and communication since Russell Jandoli started what is now the Jandoli School of Communication nearly 70 years ago, the underlying core of what we train students to do is the same. That is his great legacy here.
Burning the basics into students including how to aggressively gather information and vividly write about what they found – and doing so in an ethical way – is timeless and has certainly served generations of students well. At the same time, Dr. Jandoli knew communicators and the program had to evolve along with the industry. As we remember that legacy on what would have been his 100th birthday, his vision is as clear and important as ever.
