Aldi supermarkets have announced a recall of flour sold in its stores that may contain E. coli bacteria.
The recall applies to “Bakers Corner All Purpose Flour” which the supermarket chain sold in 11 states, including New York.
The flour affected by the recall was sold in a five-pound bag with the UPC code 041498130404.
To be cautious, Aldi has recalled from its store shelves all lots of Bakers Corner All Purpose Flour products, which were produced by ADM Milling Co.in Buffalo.
If customers have the product affected by this recall they should discard it immediately or return it to their local store for a refund, the company stated in a press release.
Consumers with additional questions can contact ADM Milling Customer Service at 800-422-1688 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Aldi reminds customers to not consume any raw products made with flour. Flour is an ingredient that comes from milling wheat, something grown outdoors that carries with it risks of bacteria which are rendered harmless by baking, frying or boiling.
