ALLEGANY, NY --  State troopers arrested a 40-year-old Allegany man Monday after responding to a 911 call for a domestic dispute. 

Sammy L. Mcdaniel was charged with harassment, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal mischief on  at 7:30 p.m.

Police said troopers arrived at Colonial Village trailer park on Route 417 to interview a female victim and her 9-year-old child. According to police, the woman indicated that an argument escalated because of Mcdaniel's intoxicated state.

Mcdaniel is alleged to have struck the woman in front of the child and then taken her mobile phone to prevent her from calling police,.Her child had leave the residence to call 911 from another home, police said. 

Mcdaniel was processed at the State Police barracks in Olean and arraigned in Town of Great Valley Court. He was placed in the Cattaraugus County Jail and ordered to appear in court this month.
