ST. BONAVENTURE, NY -- With St. Bonaventure University alumni returning to campus for Reunion Weekend, the college radio station will get the festivities off to an early start with a special summer edition of "Flying,” featuring music, news and disc jockeys from the 1970s. 

Former DJ Evan McElroy will join “Flying” host Steve Cocca for the program, which will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday on WSBU-FM 88.3. The show will stream online live at

McElroy will talk about and play some of his favorites when he was a popular radio truly host in 1973 and 1974 when the station was named WOFM.

“Evan has picked out a fantastic collection of tunes in honor of his 45th reunion at St. Bona’s and will bring back his legendary FM late night jock style that enshrined him in Bona radio lore,” Cocca said. 

In addition to McElroy, former WOFM news director John Stevens will recreate some of his newscasts during the program. Stevens is a lecturer in the School of Business at St. Bonaventure.
